IMF Chief Says Bitcoin Tools Could Make Traditional Finance

The head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that the underlying technology of bitcoin and other digital currencies could make the finance system function more effectively. In a blog post published yesterday, Christine Lagarde, the chief of the IMF, said that just as the technologies that emerged during the dot-com era to change our lives, so too could cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin impact the way people save money, invest, or pay for their bills.
